I bought my first Internet access in the spring of 1994. That was a little before Internet access became mainstream, and I could choose my own username with my ISP instead of the 12 digit account number it soon evolved to.
The name lars was already taken, it had to be ASCII only, hence the name larsskj came into mind. It has been my Internet nickname ever since.
